The winemaking team of Attilio Pagli and Ana Musso bring together old world expertise and a fresh perspective on Mendoza.

Head winemaking, Attilio Pagli is considered one of the best winemakers in the world. Pagli studied at the Technical Agrarian Institute of Siena, Italy and initially arrived in Mendoza in 1992 to advise on a Sangiovese project.  After his arrival he soon discovered the vines were not Sangiovese, but Malbec and he uncovered the enormous opportunity to bring Malbec to the center stage.

Attilio’s assistant, Ana Musso was born in Mendoza into a family of winemakers and vine growers.  She continued the family tradition by pursuing a degree in Enology at the National Technological University of Mendoza and continued studying viticulture for her Master’s Degree in Quality Engineering.  Before joining the Coen team, she had previously worked for many renowned wineries in Mendoza including Bodega Trivento, Doña Paula and Andeluna Cellars.

"The greatest winemakers don’t just pay lip service to the philosophy that ‘great wines start in the vineyard’, but truly work to achieve that."
